One (This week's Photo Hunt theme)

This week's Photo Hunt entry is one of those rare ones for which I'm offering up just one photo. This isn't because I only have one suitable candidate of photo to fit the theme but because I thought one photo would be appropriate considering what this week's theme is. For those of you who'd like to check out some more photos, however -- and specifically for those looking for more proof that there really are cows to be found in Hong Kong -- here's referring you to some previous entries on this blog including this, this and this. So... enjoy? :)

Great minds think alike. I only posted ONE photo this week too (it just seemed apropos).

Love to see the evidence of cows in the Big Lychee. Hope you have a great weekend!

I did post one photo for today too. Those cows are so lucky to be living and grazing in HK.

Happy weeknd.

Lol. Just one huh? Cows are not the first thing to spring to mind in thinking about HK, but I'm sure there are lots.

Have a great weekend.

Is that cow wearing a single shoe?

We have Moose crossing, deer crossing, turtle crossing, cows crossing, here, amongst other things.

They don't restrict them to the farms? What is the penalty for knocking down a cow?

Nice. We have kangaroo and koala signs like these. I took a dog theme this week. Happy to be back after a few weeks. As it happens, I was actually painting. Hope you are well.

Never expected such a sign in HK...!! I love cows, they show such tranquility... It's the weekend, have a happy one!!

Hi Annie --

"Love to see the evidence of cows in the Big Lychee."

Hope you clicked on the links to blog entries featuring cows then! :)

Hi ewok1993 --

There definitely are areas in Hong Kong where cows do seem to be happy to be in. :)

Hi jmb --

Yup, just one this week -- makes quite the change, huh? ;b

Hi magiceye --

Thanks! :)

Hi Anneke --

Heheh... I think you mistook the nail on the sign for a cow's shoe! (If you click on the photo, it'll be enlarged and you'll be able to see better :D)

Hi EastCoastLife --

Strange but true: there are a lot of feral cows in Hong Kong -- descendants of cows from farms that were abandoned some years back. Re penalties: don't know about that as I don't drive... but would think that the damage to one's vehicle would be pretty hefty in and of itself!

Hi Colin --

Welcome back to Photo Hunting. In Malaysia, I've seen a similar sign for elephants... and in Tanzania, for zebras! ;b

Hi Mar --

You're right, cows can often behave in a way that suggest placidity. :)

i occasionally see cows walking down the road where i live in Penang. they look happy and under no stress. :)

Nice photo for the theme. You rarely see just one cow though - they tend to hang out with their pals :)

Great shots - I looked for a similar shot but apparently my pictures of road signs are limited to misspelled words. LOL

Have a good weekend.

Love the contrast between the red and other shades in this photo!

I'm sure if the grass is as green as those in the other link, these cows will be happy cows :)

Cool find.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Great shot for the theme. I almost went with just one photo too.

Hi Life Ramblings --

Now you've got me wondering which part of Penang you live in... (BTW, I was born in Penang! ;b)

Hi Ruth --

I've seen single cows as well as herds here in Hong Kong, actually! ;b

Hi JDeQ --

I have some of those misspelled words kind of road signs in my photo collection too! ;b

Hi Sue --

Yeah, without that red in that, it all seems quite black and white doesn't it? ;)

Hi Julie --

I think the trouble in Hong Kong isn't that the cows don't have enough to eat but that they're eating and pro-creating so well that certain parts of the territory are in danger of being over-run by these creatures! :O

Hi Liz --

Thanks and hope you have a good weekend too. :)

Hi Carver --

It was really hard to limit myself to not just one photo but also one paragraph of text -- but, yay, I actually did manage it! ;b

Again you dispose of another assumption about Hong Kong! Have a great weekend

one cow in HK would be an amazing sight.:p love our take on the theme.

P.S. The Ruins--recently, it has become a tourist attraction after the great-grandson of the owner decided to clean it up. now there's even a cafe inside the old mansion.

It sure looks like a dairy cow around here cattle sign looks more like a beef.

Coffee is on.

I like what you did with this week's theme!

In New Zealand we have many such signs, but they don't have 1km on it.

Nice 'one' I like it.

Ha - that's great!

Hi Trekcapri --

Thanks, glad you approve of my O/one Photo Hunt submission for this week! :)

Hi Linda --

Welcome back to Photo Hunting and hope you'll visit this blog again. :)

Hi Gattina --

Agree... including why just 1 kilometre? Do cows really not range far at all? ;b

Hi Jams --

Hehe... am happy to keep on broadening people's views of Hong Kong. :)

Hi Luna Miranda --

Hope you clicked on my provided link entries featuring single cow photos then! ;b

Hi peppylady --

You know your cows more than me -- I frankly won't be able to tell a dairy from beef cow apart! :O

Hi Maya --

I'm glad you like what I did! :)

Hi Ann --

Funny, would have thought New Zealand would have sheep rather than cow signs! :O

Hi Cherry Pie --

Thanks! :)

Hi azahar --

Gather that you approve -- and also that the sight made you smile! :)

Hey, even in my neighborhood (in Pg), you do see a herd of cows..or sometimes a lost cow..wandering aimlessly! So, did actually see any cows after spotting that signage, YTSL?

YTSL said...

Hi sygoh --

Yes, I did spot cows in that area (Pui O, for anyone who's wondering) -- and within that 1 kilometer radius at that! :)
