As pretty much anyone who has checked out this blog knows, I love Hong Kong. A place that's full of energy and life, my experience also is of it being a place where beauty abounds -- and not solely in terms of Hong Kong Island's iconic skyline or Lantau's Big Buddha either. Although my photography often doesn't really do what I've photographed justice, I hope the three pictures I've chosen for this week's Photo Hunt entry will help give you some idea of what I mean.
And for those who would like a more concrete idea of what they're looking at, the above examples of pockets of eastern- and western-style along with natural beauty in Hong Kong respectively are of (from top down):-
- An arch on a hill near the top-most pavilion of Fung Ying Seen Koon, Fanling, New Territories;
- The garden of King's College, Midlevels, Hong Kong Island; and
- The Ngong Ping plateau (and Pyramid Hill) in Ma On Shan Country Park (as opposed to the Ngong Ping on Lantau), New Territories.

Wow! Your photos are so beautiful this week! :)
Beautiful scenery ... Also love HK. Thanks for sharing!
The garden reminded me of a long lost garden in one of the run down buildings over here. In fact it has a swimming pool right in the middle. Beautiful!

Hi Criz Lai --

Hi Sho --
Am I really? Well, there's a lot of scope for variety in this week's Photo Hunt theme. So... and you're welcome re the encouraging comments on your blog: definitely meant them! :)
Hi Corey --
Coming from you (who spends so much time composing her photos!), your comments are a real compliment! Thanks! :)
Hi Leslie (in Vancouver) --
Vancouver is another very beautiful place... one that definitely rivals Hong Kong that way! (So maybe it's not a coincidence that so many Hong Kongers moved there around 1997!) :)
wow you have a beautiful shots...
Today it's difficult to comment, because the theme is already "beautiful", lol !
I would love to visit Hong Kong it must be a very interesting city and the landscape looks beautiful too !
I love visiting Hong Kong ... more for its food and shopping. I always spent a beautiful time there. oh... there are many beautiful ladies in Hong Kong.

Hey, how r u? So glad to b visiting yr blog again :)
Great shots. I particulary like the last one taken in the country park. Have a great weekend
I have just realised, belatedly perhaps, how varied concepts of beauty are. For instance I prefer your third picture and whilst I can relate to the first in an intellectual way, that is all.
Photowise they are, of course, excellent.
I love the curve of the buildings in the garden.
These three photos are so different, and all so beautiful! You've excelled yourself!
Absolutely beautiful!!

Hi bengbeng --
Am okay, thanks -- and welcome back after a long time away (unlike jmb!)! ;)
Hi jams o'donnell --
Thanks and hope you have a great weekend too! :)
Hi Aileni --
I think it figures that the third picture is more universal in its beauty since it's of nature. Interesting comments re the first photo -- FWIW, for me, it's not just the arch itself that's beautiful but also the blue sky with its white clouds and the juxtaposition of traditional and modern structures in the picture.
Hi Liz --
Am glad you do! :)
Hi Dragonstar --
Thanks, am happy that you like all three photos! :)
Hi Mar --
Thanks! :)
Hi Yen --

Hi Carver --
Thanks. It helps to have great material to work with! :)
Hi Ancient One --
Sorry, haven't put up any photos from that particular place yet. Hope you'll visit when I finally do!
Hi Susan (@2Lives) --
You should visit Hong Kong some time yourself -- with your sizable photo-taking skills, bet you'd come up with lots of cool pics! :)
Hi Snap2Days --
Thanks! :)
Hi Nita --
Thanks and hope you're having a good weekend too. :)
Hi gaj38 --
Did go visit and it looks like you and I both find beauty in nature. :)
Hi Lissa (@2lives) --
Am happy to be able to show the beauty in Hong Kong. To be honest, many of the things I choose to photograph, I do because I find them "interesting" but it's nice to find them being judged as beautiful too. :)
Nope, they were taken in the same camera. I just apply some effects on the last picture :)
Hi again Nita --
Amazing how the same camera can produce such different type of pics. (And if anyone wonders about our conversation, it's about pics on her Beautiful entry ;b)
lovely places!
here's mine. thanks.
Hi Jo --
Thanks -- and yes, I did pay a return visit to your blog. :)
Better late than never:) I'm still trying to catch up.
Those really are beautiful shots. I especially like the last. Is that a path going up the hill? People walk up it? It looks very steep.
Hi a. --
Better late than never re visiting and commenting! And yes, that really is a path up that hill that people really do hike up!! :b
