Scenic view of
the Tai Tam Reservoirs
and the surrounding green areas
Yes, this really is Hong Kong Island!A picture -- as the proverbial 'they' assert -- says a thousand words. And we've got two in this entry. So am not going to write much more beyond the following:-
1) Yes, I did go hiking earlier today;
2) Yes, the air was (relatively) unpolluted and the sky was blue;
3) Yes, as the pictures help to attest, it truly was wonderful out there this afternoon; and
4) Yes, this really is Hong Kong! :)))))
Nice day with nice people and great weather, hiking should be like that !
Hi Sophia --
Thanks for visiting my blog and hope that your hike photos from today came out okay too! :)
Anyway, did you get my photo album before ? Because I'm not sure I have sent it successfully..
Hi Sophia --
No, I didn't get your photo album (only the picture of the kawaii wooden bird!). So please resend!
What a fun time you seem to be having on these hikes. Are there places to stop and eat (like picnic tables not food stalls), go to the toilet, etc on the trails? Are there wild animals, do you have to be careful of ticks the way I do in our local woods? I was once surprised by two porcupines on an evening walk around the Peak. The animals were in the bushes off the walkway but we still were careful not to get to close....
Hi sbk --
I remember telling some friends in Malaysia that I've hiked in Hong Kong and their being really incredulous about it. But yeah, it's a fun and very popular activity here.
And to answer your queries: Yes, there are places to stop and eat in certain areas -- though one *can* go for hours (and miles) without seeing such. Re wild animals: There reputedly are pythons, especially in the New Territories, and monkeys over in Kowloon. Thus far though, the biggest wildlife I've seen have been birds and spiders -- and, frankly, I wouldn't mind if it stays that way! ;S
Hi a. --
Thanks and should you want to know, yes, I most definitely am planning to put up a photo-essay of this hike sometime soon (maybe even as soon as tomorrow)! :)
wow...wow..love to go hiking in such an area
Hi Bengbeng --
Well, bear in mind that Hong Kong is NOT that far away from Malaysia. So... ;)
