What do these two photos for this week's Photo Hunt entry have in common? Not that much, really, besides their both having been taken on trips outside of Hong Kong and each containing four objects I'd like to draw your attention to.
The first photo is of four beautifully hand-carved eggs on exhibit at the little gem that is the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan over in Taipei while the the second is of four very yummy coconut-and-egg combo tarts that I came across while in Macau on a food feature assignment. Almost needless to say, I definitely recommend sampling both if you ever get the chance to do so! :b

I look. I feel hungry.
wow, these are two great photos for this weeks theme! The tarts look wonderful! Thanks for visiting my hunt today! I really appreciate your visit!
The four decorated eggs are beautiful and the tarts look delicious. Happy weekend.
Now you got me craving for some egg tarts!! :P
So, we'll meet to yum cha the next time I'm in HK? :)
So you're an egg fancier, eh? And just in time for Easter, no less.
Egg-cellent work!
Those hand carved eggs are beautiful! Those tarts look almost too good to eat, ha, ha and so colourful.
Thanks for visiting us.
Both of these are so nice. The eggs are beautiful and those tarts! I'd love to try one of those (if not four!). Thanks for sharing these unique things and have a great weekend.
those tarts look scrumptious.
happy weekend!
Great photos! And that coconut-egg combo looks delicious!
I wonder how those egg arts are made. Very nice shot of four
Looks delicious, both of them - even if you can only eat one of them :-)
These eggs are beautiful !
Hi Benghui --
Hahaha... and Papa too? ;b
Hi PowerTwinsB --
You're welcome re my visit and thanks for returning the favor! :)
Hi Carver --
Agreed and happy weekend to you too. :)
Hi Napaboaniya --
Drop me an e-mail before you next come over to Hong Kong and if there's time and opportunity, why not? :)
Hi Mojo --
Funny... until I saw your comment, didn't realize that something (else) my two pics had in common were that they're egg-related! ;D
Hi Team Tabby --
The tarts may look good but trust me when I tell you that that fact didn't prevent me from biting into -- and disposing of -- them! ;b
Hi Annie --
The tarts are a big big and rich to eat four at a time. But, then, by the time I got to them, I also had had other food. So you might think differently! ;b
Hi Life Ramblings --
They don't just look. They were! :b
Hi Candi --
Thanks and I'm glad the deliciousness of those tarts come through in the pic. :)
Hi Ordinary Biscuit --
Alas, don't know the answer as I'm not a good cook. But does it help if I tell you that the top is actually made out of strands of shaved coconut?
Hi RennyBA --
How about if I put it this way: one is a feast for the eyes while the other is that and also for the stomach? ;b
Hi Gattina --
They sure are! :)
I can't imagine carving eggs! U wonder how the artist keeps them from breaking!
My Photo Hunter post is at
East Gwillimbury Wow
The top eggs are real? Whether or not, the skill needed to carve them is stunning. But I think the bottom four are probably more tasty! :)
Very difficult to credit anyone with the skill and patience to do that kind of intricate work. Amazing.
The hand carved eggs are amazing. Great take on the theme and thanks for sharing where to find them.
Great take on this week's theme!
The first photo is fantastic, are those eggs, for real - to eat?
Mine is up too!
Have a great weekend! :)
Those hand carved eggs are magnificent!!!
Mine is posted. Four of nature's candelabras....come on over to view!
Happy weekend wishes to you and yours.
i love food. Consequently i love your pic :D
Wow - great shots!!
Happy Weekend.
The carved eggs look fantastic!! I am sure the food tastes fantastic too :)
Happy weekend!
Oh, wonderful shots! Both so delicate and inviting... well done!
The eggs are beautiful indeed, and the tarts look yummy.
Thanks for stopping at my place.
Have a great weekend!
And here I thought the thing both sets of four have in common, besides you, was the egg.
Good things come in fours!
Very nice pictures :)
YUMMM!!! I'm hungry now.
I moved my Photo Hunters to my new photo blog. Please visit if you can!

Have a great weekend!
Those little eggs look so incredible!!!
Love the delicate eggs. They remind me of the painted eggs in Salzburg, Austria. I tried to bring a dozen back to the US.... even with the greatest of care, several were broken. It is amazing how they can do suck intricate work.
Mine is up here.
Very nice entry. It does make me hungry too.
These are great for "four!" I'd like to try those tarts!
Great photos and wonderful for the "four" theme! The first eggs look so beautiful and the second eggs sound delicious!
Quite nice!! The tarts look so real--makes my tummy growl:). By the way, thank you for visiting my "four" too!
Hi "Your EG Tour Guide" --
I've no idea re how they do it. Find it truly amazing myself!
Hi A. --
From what I've read about this egg-carving art, the eggs are indeed real. This -- and the practice of doing such as painting on the INSIDES of bottles and RICE grain sculptures -- are among those "crafts" I find close to miraculous.
Hi Aileni --
See my above comments to A. Amazing indeed! :)
Hi Brita --
You're welcome and hope you visit there should you ever find yourself in Taipei. (And, of course, the Palace Museum there is absolutely amazing!)
Hi Vita --
It's "just" the eggshells left in the pic... so you'd just have to content yourself with eating the tarts below! ;D
Hi Hootin' Anni --
I went for "culture", you went for nature. Amazing and wonderful how open this week's Photo Hunt theme is, right? :b
Hi Isaiah --
In particular, the bottom pic? ;b
Hi Pat --
Thanks, and happy weekend to you too. :)
Hi Mar --
Yep, yes and thanks! :)
Hi JC --
Thanks, glad you like them. :)
Hi SnoopytheGoon --
And thanks to you for stopping by -- as you have on quite a few Photo Hunts. :)
Hi Alice Audrey --
It's weird but I really didn't make the egg connection when I was selecting the photos. I guess I was just too focused on finding photos that fit the "four" theme! ;D
Hi Sandi --
Good things come in a lot of numbers and ways! ;)
Hi "The Social Frog" --
Thanks! :)
Hi Mrs. Mecomber --
Do you live in New York City? If so, would suggest you check out the egg tarts that surely must be on offer in one of its Chinatowns! ;b
Hi Expat Traveler --
I think they *are* incredible! :)
Hi srp --
So sorry to hear about your broken painted eggs. I know what you mean: saw some beautiful crystal ware in Austria. Wish I could take some of the bigger pieces home but ended up settling for just a tiny one because of the fear of breakage.
Hi Photo Cache --
Time for a meal or snack then! ;b
Hi PastorMac's Ann --
Well, I hope you'll get to Macau some day then. There's also the classic Macau tarts that taste like creme brulee pastry. Amazing stuff! :)
Hi Sammawow --
Thanks for your comments. Appreciate them and your appreciation. :)
Hi Cindy O --
Thanks and you're welcome. :)
All so nice and make me hungry too!

Hi Irene --
Teeheehee re your being one more person made hungry by my photo! ;b
Hi Isaiah --
Thanks for returning to elaborate on your feelings re my photo of those tarts! :)
Hi Annant --
You are welcome to consume them... with your eyes! ;b
Very clever. The tarts are very colourful, and look rather tasty, while the eggs are - er - eggs-quisite!
Hi Dragonstar --
Didn't mean to be clever but glad you think that of my Photo Hunt entry! :)
