I've done it!

Some of those I've only had once, obviously, and my grand total was: 58 tried, 11 strike-thrus, and 31 untried as of yet.

And the picture is durian? I've seen Bourdain eat it so I'm taking that guess!

Oh, I'm glad you did this. After I posted, I thought "I should have tagged YTSL." Seriously. And you did not disappoint, with your high "score."

I'm surprised that you wouldn't consider eating hare, what with your generally adventurous foodiness.

It was a fun meme. I don't consider myself a real "foodie" but found I'd eaten many more foods than I would have thought....Some foods I looked up and realized I'd eaten them but didn't know their proper names and some I ate as I was abroad and didn't want to be rude to my hosts and some I ate for the hell of it so I could say I'd eaten them.

Hi Glenn --

No, not a durian. Funny, had thought of putting up a picture of such -- but figured that nutmeg's prettier! :b

Hi Alejna --

Well, consider me belatedly tagged! ;b

As for the hare: a) it's too close to rabbit which I find cute; and b) found venison too gamey and am expecting that hare might be similarly so.

Hi sbk --

Checked out your shot at the meme and indeed re your having eaten a lot of the items on the list! :)

ytsl,

Nutmeg! Hehe I was going to guess a mutant chestnut ;-)

Hi sbk --

Teeheehee at the thought of the nutmeg looking like a mutant chestnut! ;D

Hi Lam-chi --

Hmmm... if you had read my blog, I think you would have known that I'm *not* an American blogger. But okay, will allow your comments to stay up as there are American bloggers who do visit this blog... :S

As an American blogger -- that sounds funny to me -- I took the survey and it was quite easy and relatively painless.

What does alligator taste like? I've been to game dinners here in Vt which have a variety of wild game from here and north of here (Canada) but they don't serve Southern game like alligators.

ytsl and Glenn

Re whole insects. I ate mine while out walking in the woods when a swarm of mayflies desended upon me and I breathed in and voila swallowed several of them. Not a gourmet experience but I ate them...

Hi again Glenn --

Nice of you to help with that student project! :)

Hi again sbk --

Alligator tastes like... chicken. (And if you're wondering, had it as a 'po boy' while out visiting plantations with a friend in Louisiana!) As for your insect experience: Ugh is the word! ;D

The picture... it looks like a bicycle helmet got stuck in a coconut! :)

Hi Horsoon --

Hadn't thought of it until I read your comment but... you're oh so right! ;D
