Fuzzy (This week's Photo Hunt theme)

Happy 2011 to my fellow Photo Hunters and other regular visitors to this blog! Can you believe it's another new year already? How quickly time can fly... especially, as the proverbial "they" say, when you're having fun...

On the subject of fun: two of my favorite things get highlighted in this Photo Hunt entry. That is, I have hiking to thank for having the above photo of what appear to be fuzzy pods (or pre-flower casings -- new year resolution #1: learn more about what I see while out hiking in Hong Kong by doing such as buying and perusing a book on Hong Kong butterflies...) while the second photo tells of how I really do get a warm and fuzzy feeling when I catch sight of Hello Kitty plushies!!

Almost needless to say, I think that second photo helps provide positive proof that Hong Kong definitely has its share of fans of the furry feline that has the same initials as it. At the same time, however, it admittedly is not completely commonplace to encounter such a Hello Kitty plushie-laden vehicle as that which caught my eye late one evening in Yau Ma Tei. So imagine my surprise when after doing so, I proceeded to catch sight of a second one when I rounded another corner on my way to catch my own transportation of choice (i.e., a bus!) to take me home that night!

Alas, I didn't dare take a photo of that vehicle -- and the Hello Kittys in it -- as, unlike the one I photographed, it had occupants in it. So you're just going to have to take my word for it that it was even more cute cat-filled than the one in the above picture!!! :D

I like the fuzzy pods. I thought about plants but couldn't think of any shots I had of ones with fuzzy parts. That's a bunch of hello kitty plushies. Fun shot. Wishing you a wonderful New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope it is a great one, and I look forward to following it via your writing.
I also couldn't resist using the warm and fuzzy feeling cliche in this week's post.

Hi Liz --

Thanks X 2. :)

Hi ewok1993 --

Warm and fuzzy certainly does feel nice. :)

Hi magiceye --

Glad it meets with your approval. ;b

Hi Anneke --

...and if any one can ID it, I'd be grateful! ;b

Hi Maya --

It may be a cliche but still cool and often appropriate enough, right? ;b

Hi Randi --

Exotic indeed -- and not all that common... at least they're not something I spot all that often! And thanks for the new year wishes -- same to you too. :)

Hi Sue --

Hi Trekcapri --

That is a neat plant. And a great goal to learn more on the flora and fauna of Hong Kong. I look forward to seeing more of your finds.

And Wow! What a collection of Hello Kitties. HK!

Hi and Happy New Year to you.
That is an unusual plant, what sort of fruit or nut do those pods contain?

YTSL said...

Hi Lew --

Yes, indeedy. Actually had an all plant fuzzy entry planned -- only I realised it was too same-colored... so had to go hunting for another photo. Luckily, I found the Hello Kitty laden one in my archives! :)

Hi Gattina --

Sooooo glad to learn that you, too, are a fan of Hello Kitty. :)

Hi gitwizard --

I could be mistaken but I think those pods actually contain flowers getting ready to come out and bloom. :)

Hope you have a great 2011. Thanks for visiting in 2010. Not a big fan of Hello Kitty, but impressed by the number. Take care.

Hi ytsl,

Hehe...I must be really tired from the holiday season here as for a few seconds I thought the fuzzy pods were birds.....

How did you resist jumping in the car full of Hello Kittys and ride around with them?

YTSL said...

Hi Colin --

Yeah, I've had to accept that not everyone's a Kitty Chan. Won't hold your non Hello Kitty love against you -- and plan to visit your blog some more in 2011. ;b

Hi sbk --

Wow... did you have a great (if exhausting) weekend then? Re the car: I really was just content to gape and take photos of it!!! ;b

Hi mister bijou --

Thanks and same to you! :)

I never fail to smile at any Hello Kitty plushies. I'm not allowed to have it in our house as I have macho guys. haha....

Wishing you good health, happiness and success in 2011!

Hi EastCoastLife --

I'm glad someone else feels the same way about Hello Kitty plushies. And re your macho guys: maybe what you need to do is to get them some Dear Daniel and Badtzmaru plushies to call their own? ;b

And happy 2011 to you too. :)
