I have to be honest: I almost decided not to take part in this week's Photo Hunt -- not because the theme was too difficult, mind; but, rather, due to my having discovered within the past 24 hours that some photos I had previously posted up on my blog have been stolen by -- and even had copyright claimed on them! -- by a bright spark (not!) of a blogger.
But then I got to thinking of how much I've enjoyed taking part in tnchick's Photo Hunt, and for more than a year now. (In fact, upon checking, I find that my first Photo Hunt entry -- 60 entries ago! -- was back on April 13, 2007!) So here I am, with another pair of photos -- this time on the theme of bright -- which I hope you guys and gals will enjoy checking out:-
Spotted while on a hike that took in
Sai Kung East Country Park's Pak Tam Chung
Nature Trail and Sheung Yiu Country Trail
back in March -- bright red flowers
of the ivory coral tree that blooms in the spring

(Oh, and do please do excuse me if I'm a little slower in doing my visiting rounds this week(end) as I'm actually travelling during much of it! And yep, that's also why this entry is up earlier than usual and chances are high that I'll be on a plane when some of you are reading these very words... ;b)

Hi YTSL. Read the story about that lowlife. Quite a chutzpa.
Great shots for this week, anyway, so don't stop because of that thief.
Have a great weekend!
Love the top photo of the bright sun on the water.
That was a bright idea! I went with bright colors myself....hope you can stop by. Have a super great weekend.
There are very few things more captivating than sunlight dancing in the water. Wonderful shots.
Nice shot for the theme..Happy hunting!
nice photos love the first one!
view mine if you wish here thanks
Lovely picture..nice entry...see mine if you can...Thanks.
nice shots, & glad you still decided to post for this weeks PH.
Hi, you captured the first shot well. Very well indeed.
I am sorry to read that someone took your pictures without your permission. Am angry for you, but think positively. You should be proud because some copycats took your shots because your shots are way too beautiful (= be happy (=
Beautiful shots, particularly the first.
Is there anything you can do about the photo theft?
Hi Pearl --
Glad you like that first picture. And teeheehee re the pearl connection in your comments. :)
Hi mistyeiz --
Haven't checked re the stolen picture situation yet. And yes, it would be nice if the guilty party will learn her lesson.
Hi Snoopy the Goon --
I'm trying not to be stopped by the thief. Took some photos earlier today that would make for a great photo essay and really would like to share them with this blog's visitors but would be really upset if they got stolen (too).
Hi Hootin' Anni --
Glad that picture came out okay. It was so bright, I couldn't look through my viewfinder! So just pointed in that direction and shot!
Hi Genny --
Thanks and you too! :)
Hi gaj38 and mimi11460 --
Thanks and yep, I did visit (albeit on the late side... so this is turning into more of a Sunday than Saturday Photo Hunt this time around). :)
Hi Kaycee --
Thanks, and you too! :)
Hi Pelfy --
I know the saying that imitation is a form of flattery but that act went beyond copying into theft; so I'm afraid it's hard to see a positive side to it. The ironic thing is that my blog doesn't get that many visitors anyways... so for even one to be a thief... :S
Hi Dragonstar --
Thanks. Have done something about the photo theft but will see what else can be done about it.
I looked at your glittering sea and kicked myself for not using one of my monochrome shots that would have been perfect. I am going to put it up on my Monochrome site just to make me feel less annoyed with myself.
You may have gathered - I love your shot... and the rest.
Wow, I love the bright red of the flowers (one of my favourite colours), but the sparkling light off the water is just wonderful.
Hope your week-end goes well, and hasn't been too exhausting.
I like the sparkling water shot.
sorry to hear about the theft of your photos. it's sad and a bit stupid, some people just don't have any common sense
hope you work that out and have a nice weekend

What you can do is to put watermarks on all your photos. Simply use any photo edit program and type your name or website over it, (right in the middle of your pic-make sure it's big enough so that the culprit cannot clone off your name), then make it like 30% transparent. Nobody then can steal any of your pictures.
This way, we can all still enjoy the pictures you took. Pls don't just because of some bloody idiot and we all cannot enjoy your pictures anymore :(
Beautiful entry for todays theme..mine was Pandakaki a white flower and it's not about panda feet our native tongue use to describe a small person as pandak..and I think the person who named the plant just use it as root word because the plant grow not more than six feet it's a shrub...Thanks..
Hi Aileni --
Glad you love my shot and in your case, imitation would be a form of flattery... :)
Hi A. --
The weekend has gone well. Managed to cram in a lot of activities and -- since I'm temporarily back in Penang -- a lot of eating as well. :)
Hi 2Lives --
Thanks for your comments. Appreciate it.
Hi Kit --
Tempting about the watermark suggestion. Don't know how to use photo edit programs though so maybe if you could e-mail instructions re that? ;S
Hi again mimi11460 --
Thanks for returning to explain about the real meaning of pandakaki. :)
That sparkly water pic looked great live (as well), I'm sure.
Hey I'm sorry to barge in on the photo gang but I was wondering whether it would be possible for you to give us info on the Red Cliff premiere (I'm hoping you attended)
Hi Willow --
Actually, that sparkly water was hard to see live as it really was so bright! ;D
Hi "eliza bennet" --
Just got my invite confirmed today for a Red Cliff preview but am not sure whether it's the premiere or an earlier press screening... ;)
