Figured I might as well call it Siu Hang Tsuen and since I put Tsuen with a capital "T" rather than small one, I figured I might as well describe it in English as a village for those who don't know that "tsuen" means "village" in YTSLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09930487923185001591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-78312947625810736922012-10-07T16:33:00.569+08:002012-10-07T16:33:00.569+08:00"the village of Siu Hang Tsuen"
You do ..."the village of Siu Hang Tsuen"

You do realize that this phrase is tautologous? The village is actually known simply as "Siu Hang" (I live across the river in San Wai).

...by the way, is Ma Wat Wai really 40,000 years old?
Dennis Hodgsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409579380626581592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-43378657240885068692010-01-17T22:43:38.909+08:002010-01-17T22:43:38.909+08:00Hi duriandave --

And speaking of small scale: it often surprises me how small many of the religious buildings in Hong Kong are.

As for old buildings: actually, there's a photo of a building from the pre-colonial period a few blog entries ago -- i.e., the Tin Hau Temple at Joss House Bay! Not so much in population, which it might be, but many (not all) of the buildings look as if they are built on a small scale. The shrines and temple look almost as if they are meant to be used by one or two people at a time.

An aspect of living in Hong Kong that one might consider ewafflehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03339565669634286677noreply@blogger.com
