The highest up I've been in Hawaii is Kilauea -- but can't remember it being brisk or cool there. The sight of all that lava just got me thinking "super hot"! :bYTSLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09930487923185001591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-42687988595824669722011-08-24T06:26:34.697+08:002011-08-24T06:26:34.697+08:00That's right... it's never brisk in Hawaii...That's right... it's never brisk in Hawaii...unless you got to the top of Haleakala, Mauna Kea or Mauna Loa.baroness radonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14593108634484542286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-1921634718263489722011-08-20T10:34:04.802+08:002011-08-20T10:34:04.802+08:00Hi once more baroness radon --

OTOH, Hawaii also never gets as cold in winter as Hong Kong, right? It's never quite that humid in Hawaii. The Christmas season we spent there was lovely though.baroness radonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14593108634484542286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-61683753550642578492011-08-19T00:22:52.336+08:002011-08-19T00:22:52.336+08:00Hi again baroness radon --

Have to admit that I prefer the cooler seasons -- though it's also true that I do like the blue skies and clear air we tend to get in the summer more than at those times of the year when the wind is blowing from the north and mainland China!YTSLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09930487923185001591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-61178256750104603202011-08-18T04:18:33.262+08:002011-08-18T04:18:33.262+08:00YTSL--My husband was a frequent visiting professor...YTSL--My husband was a frequent visiting professor at HKU, from 1985 though the handover and beyond, many summers and one memorable Christmas season. We were back briefly in 2008, and next time I travel to China--perhaps next year--,hope to enter or leave via HK. We both have always felt very at-home in HK, even more than Honolulu, really.baroness radonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14593108634484542286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-22933062362730003412011-08-18T00:09:29.105+08:002011-08-18T00:09:29.105+08:00Hi baroness radon --

I have been here less than the amount of time that allows me to qualify as a permanent resident but yeah, I really do like it very much and am definitely contemplating applying for the PR-ship should I eventually stay here for seven years running.YTSLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09930487923185001591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-35590332000589085392011-08-17T05:39:38.857+08:002011-08-17T05:39:38.857+08:00This makes me homesick for a place that was never ...This makes me homesick for a place that was never really my home.baroness radonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14593108634484542286noreply@blogger.com
