Also, the feeling I get is that the artists attracted to Sham Shui Po are those that don't make the kind of money that the ones whose art gets sold in galleries in Central do. So I think that it'll stay predominantly working-class forYTSLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09930487923185001591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-61726813010465771622016-04-19T21:34:16.998+08:002016-04-19T21:34:16.998+08:00Hi YTSL,

Beyond Boundary St I discovered Sham Shui Po and immediately felt it was authentic Hong Kong...Well, I like street art just as much as anyone, but I wonder if eventual commercialization might crowd out the working class feel of this neighborhood.
<Billnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-7795732268897455512016-04-17T23:51:57.721+08:002016-04-17T23:51:57.721+08:00Hi sarah sbk --

Have to say that some of the best street art I've seen in Hong Kong took place during the Umbrella Movement. They may have been taken down/removed now but I cherish the memories and photographs I have of them.

Hi "The YTSLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09930487923185001591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-45324976375624103842016-04-17T09:15:19.465+08:002016-04-17T09:15:19.465+08:00Hi YTSL -- I have yet to check these out myself bu...Hi YTSL -- I have yet to check these out myself but it's cool that the place is being rejuvenated in this way. There are also some food tours that take people here to eat the street food that you mentioned so hopefully the area will retain its character.Goodbye HK, Hello YVRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09220868581581406872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3289278000277019122.post-46434478050479954852016-04-17T07:28:28.296+08:002016-04-17T07:28:28.296+08:00Hi ytsl,

Last summer we left time during our visit to photograph the local street art. My husband drove and pulled over when I spotted art on the side of buildings I wanted to photograph.
